Professor Narelle Lemon is a Vice Chancellor’s Professorial Research Fellow and Professor of Education at Edith Cowan University’s School of Education. Her interdisciplinary research focuses on wellbeing literacy, self-care practices, and creative research methods across K-12 education, higher education, and teacher training. She holds a Ph.D. in Education from the University of Melbourne and has received multiple awards, including the 2020 National Teaching Citation and 2021 Citizenship Award.
Her qualifications include a Master of Applied Positive Psychology (2019) and a Doctor of Education (2010) from the University of Melbourne. She has taught in Australia and Malaysia, emphasizing professional experience and digital literacy in education.
Research interests include fostering wellbeing in educators, leveraging creative methods (e.g., poetry, visual narratives), and mindfulness in academia. Her work addresses teacher resilience, pandemic impacts, and intergenerational wellbeing initiatives like the SHE Speaks project.
Recent grants include 'SHE Speaks: Intergenerational Wellbeing Through Self-Care' (2025-2026) and 'Brave Spaces: Noongar Culture & Wellbeing Literacy' (2025). She supervises doctoral research on topics like academic staff collaboration and early-career teacher well-being.
Publications span books like The ‘How’ of Self-Care for Teachers (2024) and over 50 journal articles/chapters on wellbeing, digital pedagogy, and creative research methods.
