Narayanan Ramakrishnan is an Associate Professor in the Electrical and Robotics Engineering Department at Monash University Malaysia. He leads the Micro and Nano Devices Research Lab, focusing on acoustic wave sensors, 2D materials, and wearable technology. He has secured over 15 grants, filed six patents (some commercialized), and graduated 10 PhD students while supervising five more. His teaching contributions include innovating remote labs and activity-based learning, earning him awards like the 2021 Monash Australia Dean Award for remote lab innovation. He chairs innovation and industry engagement in the School of Engineering, fostering translation research and entrepreneurship.

- Acoustic wave sensors and 2D materials for gas/VOC detection
- Microfabrication tools and handheld sensor systems
- UV LED lithography and wearable technology
- MEMS and industrial IoT applications
