Naomi Rubal

Naomi Rubal is an Assistant Professor at the University of Texas at San Antonio (UTSA), specializing in Academic Introduction & Strategies (AIS) within the Life and Health Sciences pathway. She earned a M.S. in Environmental Science (2017) and a B.S. in Multidisciplinary Sciences (2004) with a teaching certificate.

• Current doctoral candidate in the Interdisciplinary Learning and Teaching Ph.D. program at UTSA
• Nominated for the UTSA University Excellence Core Curriculum Teaching Award (2023)

Her research focuses on first-year experience courses and service-learning pedagogy, integrating active, student-centered learning into the AIS core curriculum. She has previously worked as a public K-12 teacher for 9 years before returning to graduate school.
