Naomi House

Naomi House is a Senior Lecturer in Interior Architecture and Design at Middlesex University, London, within the Faculty of Arts and Creative Industries. She holds a primary appointment in the School of Design and serves as a Research Lead. Her academic roles include teaching on MA Interiors and BA programs, as well as supervising PhD research in architecture and interiors. She has held external examining roles at Glasgow School of Art and the University of Creative Arts. Previously, she taught at the Royal College of Art, Bartlett School of Architecture (UCL), London Metropolitan University, and University of the Arts London.

Her research focuses on interiors through forensic methodologies, exploring how objects and environments can be analyzed and animated. Key projects include co-authoring 100 Women: Architects in Practice (2023), Greta Magnusson Grossman: Modern Design from Sweden to California (2021), and co-editing Working at the Intersection: Architecture After the Anthropocene (2022). She collaborates on themes of social justice, climate emergency, and urban regeneration, including the Endangered Domesticity project and the Kilburn Lab initiative.

Her teaching emphasizes critical practice, theory, and history across architecture and interiors. She is actively involved in pedagogical innovation, such as digital studio practices and adaptive reuse strategies. Her work bridges academic research, professional practice, and community engagement, reflecting a commitment to socially and environmentally responsive design.
