Nanette Hogg

Nanette Hogg is an Associate Professor and Chair of the Department of Communication at the University of Nebraska at Kearney (UNK). She holds roles as faculty advisor for the Students in Mass Media Honor organization and serves on the Institutional Review Board (IRB). Her teaching focuses on digital media, including courses like Web Site Design II, Digital Storytelling, and Multimedia Senior Directed Study. She emphasizes hands-on learning through community collaborations, evidenced by student-led projects for nonprofits such as the Kearney Storytelling Festival and Buffalo County Arts Council.

Hogg earned a Ph.D. in Education and Administration with a focus on Curriculum and Instruction from the University of Nebraska-Lincoln, alongside an MSE and BAE. Her research, conducted with Dr. Carol Lomicky (Professor Emerita), explores teaching methodologies and community engagement in communication education, resulting in publications addressing pedagogical strategies and interdisciplinary approaches.
