Nancy Yousef is a Professor of English at Yale University, specializing in British and European Romanticism with extensions into 18th-century philosophy and early Modernism. Her work bridges literature and philosophy, focusing on intersections of ethics, aesthetics, and emotional thinking.
Her research explores how philosophical and literary texts interrogate autonomy, interdependence, and sympathy. Recent projects include a study of Wittgenstein, Wordsworth, and Eliot in The Aesthetic Commonplace (2022), and the ongoing Thinking with Words: Undisciplined Readings in Modern Philosophy, which advocates for collaborative humanistic practices.
