Nancy Tuana is the DuPont/Class of 1949 Professor of Philosophy and Women's, Gender, and Sexuality Studies at Penn State University's College of the Liberal Arts. She holds a Ph.D. from the University of California and serves as the Founding Director of the Rock Ethics Institute. Her research focuses on feminist philosophy, liberatory epistemologies, intersectionality, and ethical issues in climate science.

Dr. Tuana examines coupled epistemic-ethical issues in scientific practices, particularly in climate science. She explores how marginalized knowledge systems inform environmental decision-making and advocates for decolonial feminist approaches to address ecological and social injustices.
