معرفی
Nancy Marinelli is a Research Professor in the Department of Physics & Astronomy at the University of Notre Dame, based at CERN. Her work focuses on experimental particle physics, particularly within the CMS experiment at the Large Hadron Collider (LHC). She has contributed to the verification of the Standard Model and the search for the Higgs boson. Her research involves photon and electron reconstruction, addressing challenges posed by photon conversions in the Silicon Tracker.
Education: First Degree in Physics (University of Bari, Italy, 1993), Ph.D. in Physics (University of Bari, 1997).
Research interests include collider experiments, Higgs boson detection, and electromagnetic calorimetry. Her recent work emphasizes photon reconstruction in CMS and the analysis of LHC data for new physics beyond the Standard Model.
Publications span key topics like Higgs boson observation, photon cross-section measurements, and Z boson decay analyses. She has held roles in detector electronics integration and leadership in CMS collaborations.
