Nancy Lee Roane

Nancy Lee Roane is affiliated with the University of Pennsylvania's School of Arts & Sciences, where she served as a Spanish language instructor in the Romance Languages Department. She held roles as a doctoral student, 2018-19 Graduate Fellow of the Penn Program in Environmental Humanities, and Graduate Fellow for Undergraduate Research Programs at CURF. She co-organized academic events like the Comparative Literature Speaker Series "Theorizing" and the Intensive theory reading group.

• Education: Enrolled in the Master of Social Services Program at Bryn Mawr College (2021), PhD candidate (dissertation completed).

Her research focuses on Radical Energy Narratives in Argentina and Brazil, analyzing how recent fiction and film reinterpret Latin American modernization through environmental, energy, and technological lenses. She bridges literature, cinema, and interdisciplinary environmental studies.

Awards include environmental humanities and undergraduate research fellowships. She contributed to pedagogical initiatives and graduate mentorship through CURF.
