Nancy Jallo, Ph.D., RN, is an Associate Professor and Director of the Ph.D. Program in the Department of Adult Health and Nursing Systems Education at Virginia Commonwealth University. Her research focuses on improving maternal and infant health outcomes through biobehavioral interventions, particularly in high-risk populations. Jallo has extensive clinical experience in perinatal care and holds certifications as a Family Nurse Practitioner and Women’s Health Nurse Practitioner.
Education: B.S. in Nursing (UCLA), M.S.N. in Maternal Child Concentration (Catholic University of America), Post-Master’s Certificates in Family and Women’s Health Nursing (Old Dominion University), and Ph.D. in Nursing (University of Virginia).
Research Interests: Her work explores stress responses, resilience, and epigenetic factors in pregnancy, emphasizing guided imagery and complementary therapies. Recent studies address pandemic impacts on maternal mental health and digital interventions for perinatal depression.
Grants: Co-PI on a study examining cannabis effects on maternal attachment and Co-Investigator on a multisite trial for internet-based perinatal depression prevention.
Service: Volunteers with March of Dimes and Physicians for Peace, serving on multiple boards including the Virginia Council of Nurse Practitioners and AWHONN.
