Jeanne Alhusen

Jeanne Alhusen is Professor and Associate Dean for Nursing Research at University of Virginia School of Nursing, holding the University of Virginia Medical Center Endowed Professorship. Her NIH-funded research ($1.9M NICHD grant) examines psychosocial stress impacts on maternal/infant outcomes for persons with disabilities, maternal-child interactions, and maternal attachment in high-risk populations.

As a board-certified family nurse practitioner, she studies barriers in screening/intervening for pregnancy risks. Her work informed U.S. Preventive Services Task Force guidelines on intimate partner violence screening and perinatal depression prevention.
