Nancy Gordon is an Associate Professor at Salve Regina University, currently affiliated with the Department of Business and Economics. Previously, she served as Chair of the Department of Counselor Education and Expressive Arts until 2024. With a career spanning decades, her expertise lies in leadership theory, organizational behavior, and cross-cultural awareness, informed by an interdisciplinary approach.
- Education: B.A. in International Relations and Sociology from Elmira College (1967), M.A. in International Relations from American University (1969), Ed.D. in Administration, Planning and Social Policy from Harvard University (1990).
Her research emphasizes inclusive leadership practices, strategic organizational change, and aligning policies with equitable processes. She co-authored a foundational chapter on community development initiatives in the Handbook on Participatory Action Research (2022) and published influential work on gender equality in leadership in the Journal of Interdisciplinary Feminist Thought (2013).
Dr. Gordon contributes to the Salve's Leading with Mercy program and has professional experience in organizational consulting. Her teaching philosophy integrates her academic background with real-world applications across sectors.
