Nancy E Amundson serves as a Visiting Assistant Professor in the Biology Department at the University of Tampa, teaching Life Sciences and Marine Biology courses.

Dr. Amundson specializes in ecological research with emphasis on conservation biology, animal behavior, and toxic substance impacts on wildlife populations. Her work examines estrogenic pesticide effects on rodent reproduction and behavior, selenium interactions with nitrogen-fixing bacteria and plant systems, electronic waste metal toxicity in flora, and comparative biodiversity analyses of invertebrates and shorebirds across urbanized versus pristine beach ecosystems in southern California. This research consistently addresses ecological consequences at population and community levels.

She actively participates in professional societies including the Ecological Society of America, Society of Environmental Toxicology and Chemistry, American Society of Mammalogists, Animal Behavior Society, and Society for Conservation Biology.
