Professor Nalini Pather is the Associate Dean of Education and Innovation at the Medicine & Health faculty of the University of New South Wales (UNSW). With over 25 years of experience in educational innovation and a PhD in Cell Biology of Wound Healing and Management, she specializes in medical imaging, hybrid/digital education, and inclusive education.
- Chair of the International Program for Anatomical Education (FIPAE) under the International Federation of Anatomical Associations (IFAA)
- Associate Editor of Anatomical Sciences Education (Impact Factor: 5.9)
- Fellow of the Australian and New Zealand Association for Health Professional Educators (ANZAHPE) and UNSW Scientia Education Academy
Her research spans medical imaging, virtual/augmented reality in education, 3D printing for surgical planning, and pediatric anatomy. She focuses on technology-enabled learning, cognitive load theory, and ethical frameworks in medical education.
Recent publications highlight her work on MRI and CT applications in pediatric nerve variations, ethical use of embryological collections, and AI integration in medical education. She has secured grants from institutions like the National Research Foundation (South Africa) and Ramaciotti Establishment Grant.
