Nalan Mumcu is a Researcher at Gaziantep University, Faculty of Communication, Department of Radio, Television and Cinema. Her academic journey includes a Ph.D. in Communication Sciences from Hacettepe University (2016-2024), an MA in Communication Sciences from Hacettepe University (2013-2016), and a BA in Advertising from Kocaeli University (2005-2010).

Her research focuses on Communication Studies, Cultural Studies, and Gender Roles, with an emphasis on the sociology of communication. Her recent publications explore feminist perspectives on women workers' life stories and critical memory landscapes of left-wing culture.
The 2023 article Woman, Worker, Youth reflects her engagement with gendered labor experiences and intergenerational narratives, while her 2020 work in Moment Journal analyzes ideological memory construction. These publications demonstrate her interdisciplinary approach, bridging communication theory with gender and social movement studies.
She has also contributed to academic discourse through conference presentations and workshops on topics such as poverty representation in media, new media hermeneutics, and labor studies.
