Najmeh Hoseini is an Associate Professor at West Coast University (WCU), with a career spanning academia and clinical practice in physical therapy. She holds a PhD in Kinesiology from Indiana University (2015), an MSPT from Iran University of Medical Sciences (2006), and a BS in Physical Therapy (2003). Prior to WCU, she served as core faculty at Midwestern University (2015–2019). Dr. Hoseini specializes in sensorimotor neurophysiology and neuroplasticity, focusing on interventions like transcranial direct current stimulation (tDCS) to improve motor function in stroke patients and other neurological conditions.
Her research has been presented at conferences such as the Society for Neuroscience, APTA NEXT, and Brain Mapping and Therapeutics (SBMT). Notable contributions include studies on combined tDCS and physical therapy for upper limb recovery in chronic stroke and adaptive measurement techniques for hand proprioception. She is a member of the American Physical Therapy Association (APTA) and has practiced in Iran, Indiana, and Arizona since 2006.
Dr. Hoseini’s work integrates neurorehabilitation, motor control, and biomechanics to address challenges in stroke recovery, gait analysis, and spasticity management. Her recent focus includes the mental well-being of physical therapy students through virtually guided meditation programs.
