Geert Verheyden is a professor at the Faculty of Movement and Rehabilitation Sciences, KU Leuven, and Program Director of the POC Rehabilitation Sciences and Physiotherapy. His research focuses on neurorehabilitation, particularly post-stroke recovery, sensorimotor impairments, and technology-driven interventions.
His work explores the integration of rehabilitation technology to enhance time-on-task and real-life performance, with emphasis on bimanual coordination, robotic therapy, and neural changes post-stroke. Verheyden collaborates extensively, co-supervising students in projects like Spasticity and Muscle Properties Post-Stroke and Bimanual Performance in Cerebral Palsy.
