Nai-Yi Sun

Nai-Yi Sun is a full-time Professor at the College of Law, National Taiwan University in Taipei, Taiwan.

Her academic qualifications include:

• BA in Law, National Taiwan University
• MS in Law, National Taiwan University
• LLM in Law, Ruprecht-Karls-Universität Heidelberg, Germany
• PhD in Law (Dr. iur.), Ruprecht-Karls-Universität Heidelberg, Germany

Prior to her academic career, she practiced as an attorney at law at Formosa Transnational Attorneys at Law in Taiwan. Professor Sun specializes in constitutional law, administrative law, social security law, and disability law, with research concentrating on health care reform, pension reform in Taiwan, constitutional and administrative dimensions of the welfare state, and human rights of persons with disabilities. She actively engages with NGOs on implementing the Convention on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities (CRPD).

She co-founded the Taiwan Social Law and Social Policy Society in 2014 and served on its board (2014-2016), during which she co-edited Taiwan's first social law textbook and later co-authored a CRPD commentary with Professor Fu-te Liao.
