معرفی
Nahum Ashfield is a PhD researcher at the Department of Environment & Geography, University of York, focusing on the fate and uptake of pharmaceutical chemicals in agricultural soils and their impacts on terrestrial environments. His work bridges soil science, ecotoxicology, environmental chemistry, and terrestrial ecology.
- BSc in Environmental Science (University of York)
- Current PhD researcher specializing in pharmaceutical environmental risk assessment
- Collaborator in the IMI PREMIER project
His research explores pharmaceutical persistence in terrestrial ecosystems due to sewage sludge, manure amendments, and reclaimed water irrigation. By prioritizing legacy pharmaceuticals, Nahum aims to develop predictive methods for ecological hazards in agricultural systems.
Supervised by Professor Alistair Boxall and Dr Rosie Lennon, Nahum’s work is funded by the Innovative Medicines Initiative (IMI) Prioritisation and Risk Evaluation of Medicines in the Environment (PREMIER) Project.
