Dr. Nadya Rizk is a Senior Lecturer in Science Education at the School of Education, Faculty of Humanities, Arts, Social Sciences and Education, University of New England (UNE), Australia. Her academic journey began with a Bachelor’s in Physics from the American University of Beirut, followed by graduate qualifications in Education and Science Education, culminating in a PhD from UNE. She brings prior experience as a physics teacher in Lebanon to her current role in teacher education.
Her research is deeply focused on enhancing science education in primary schools, particularly through the lens of in-service teacher professional development. Key areas include science teaching and learning practices, inquiry-based learning, and the integration of STEM in primary classrooms. She explores how technologies like videoconferencing and online platforms can support rural and regional teachers’ professional growth. Her work also extends to environmental education, coding in primary settings, and cross-cultural education initiatives such as Gross National Happiness in Bhutan.
