Nadim Wehbe

Nadim Wehbe is Professor and Department Head of Civil and Environmental Engineering at South Dakota State University's College of Engineering, where he holds the John M. Hanson Professorship. He directs the South Dakota Local Transportation Assistance Program (SDLTAP) and formerly led the Mountain Plains Consortium UTC Program (2007-2021).

His research focuses on reinforced/prestressed concrete systems, bridge engineering innovations, advanced composites, and accelerated construction techniques. Recent projects include seismic performance of precast columns, rehabilitation of double-tee bridges, and sustainable alternatives for local road infrastructure. He has secured over $8M in grants from organizations including SD DOT and NUCOR.

Honors include fellowships from ACI, ASCE, and SEI; College Researcher of the Year (2010, 2016); and AASHTO's Best Value Research award. His extensive publication record advances structural testing methodologies, deterioration mitigation, and load-rating frameworks.
