Amy Heiberger

Amy Heiberger (she/her) is an Associate Professor at South Dakota State University's College of Pharmacy and Allied Health Professions. She serves as a pediatric clinical pharmacist at Sanford Children’s Hospital’s pediatric critical care unit and holds an adjunct clinical instructor role in the University of South Dakota Sanford School of Medicine's Department of Pediatrics. Her primary affiliations include:

• Preceptor for PGY1 pharmacy residents' pediatric rotations
• Lead educator for Pharm.D. students in pharmacotherapeutics and women’s/children’s health electives
• Faculty advisor for SDSU's Pediatric Pharmacy Association student chapter

Research focuses on optimizing sedation, analgesia, and withdrawal management in critically ill pediatric patients. She coordinates experiential education programs and has developed specialized curricula for pediatric pharmacy practice. Her work bridges clinical practice and academic training, emphasizing evidence-based care in high-acuity settings.
