Nadia Vidro is a cultural and intellectual historian of medieval Jews in the Middle East, specializing in Qaraism. She holds a PhD in Hebrew Studies from the University of Cambridge (2010), an MA in Jewish Studies with minors in Islamic Studies and General Linguistics from the University of Cologne (2004), and a Diploma in Bio-physics from Saratov State University, Russia (2000).
Her research bridges medieval Jewish studies, Hebrew linguistics, and cross-cultural exchanges between Muslim and Jewish communities. She has published extensively on Qaraite grammatical treatises, the evolution of the Jewish calendar, and the use of Cairo Genizah fragments for interdisciplinary analysis.
Nadia's publications include critical editions and translations of Qaraite Hebrew grammars (2011, 2013) and a collaborative study on the 921/2 CE calendar controversy (2019). She is currently preparing a monograph on Saadya Gaon's works related to the Jewish calendar and their transmission to the West.
As an Editorial Fellow in the Invisible East programme at the University of Oxford, she oversees the publication of edited volumes like State Documents from the Medieval Islamicate World, focusing on Judeo-Arabic texts and their historical significance.
