معرفی
Dr. Nader Vahdati serves as an Associate Professor in the Department of Mechanical and Nuclear Engineering at Khalifa University, Abu Dhabi. Previously, he held leadership roles including Department Chair and Deputy Chair at the Petroleum Institute (now part of Khalifa University) from 2010 to 2017. His career spans 12 years in industry at Lord Corporation and 9 years at Nanyang Technological University (NTU) in Singapore, where he directed the Mechanical and Aerospace Engineering Part-time Program.
Education
- PhD in System Dynamics and Controls, University of California, Davis
Research Interests: Dr. Vahdati pioneers Sensor Technology for fiber optics-based corrosion, scale, gas hydrate, and biomedical detection systems. His work in Vibration and Noise Control focuses on active/semi-active systems using controllable fluids (ER/MR) and smart materials, with applications spanning oil/gas pipelines, automotive systems, and medical devices. These innovations drive solutions in pipeline integrity management and healthcare engineering.
Research Leadership: Principal Investigator for the $7M ADNOC-funded Pipeline System Integrity Management (PSIM) project (2015-2020), developing fiber optics corrosion sensors for oil/gas pipelines. Also leads research on nonlinear hydraulic engine mounts and intraocular pressure measurement using sound waves.
Scientific Awards
