Nader Vahabi

Nader Vahabi is a sociologist with Habilitation à Diriger des Recherches (HDR) from the University of Toulouse Jean Jaurès (2013). He is affiliated with the LISST (Interdisciplinary Laboratory of Solidarity, Societies, Territories) at the University of Toulouse and is a member of the ICM (Institut Convergences Migrations CNRS) in Aubervilliers. His academic work focuses on migration, exile, and Iranian diaspora studies.

Dr. Vahabi's research interests span several interconnected areas:

His work spans from historical analyses of Iranian migration to contemporary studies of the 'Women, Life, Freedom' movement, showing methodological diversity that combines qualitative sociological approaches with historical analysis and memory studies.

Dr. Vahabi actively supervises doctoral students and has directed significant editorial projects including 'An Iranian civil society in the diaspora' (2021) and coordination of forums on the 'Arab Spring.' His teaching activities have included seminars on revolutionary experiences and exile at Campus Condorcet (2023-2024) and courses on the social history of contemporary Iran at multiple French institutions.
