Nader Saiedi is an Adjunct Professor at the University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA), affiliated with the Department of Near Eastern Languages and Cultures. He previously held academic positions at Vanderbilt University, University of Virginia, and Carleton College, teaching sociology. His research spans Iranian Studies, Baha'i Studies, social theory, and peace studies, with notable works including The Birth of Social Theory (1993), Logos and Civilization (2000), and Gate of the Heart (2008). He received an MS in economics from Pahlavi University in Iran and a PhD in sociology from the University of Wisconsin, Madison (1983).
