Nacho Montiel is a Lecturer and Willenborg Teaching Fellow at Dominican University, where she integrates civic engagement and justice-driven design education into her courses. As a proud Registered Yaqui Tribal Member and founder of Nacho Momma's Designs, she operates at the intersection of art, agency, and social justice through community-based design initiatives.

Her work centers on design pedagogy that embeds civic engagement and social justice principles, drawing from Bauhaus, Constructivism, and anti-racist feminist frameworks. She emphasizes removing barriers for emerging artists through collaborative strategies inspired by Paulo Freire and bell hooks, with expertise spanning commercial branding, social media design, and community art projects that prioritize accessibility and empathy.
