Nabil Khelil is a Professor of Entrepreneurship at the University of Caen Normandy, where he directs the master's degree program in entrepreneurship and project management. He is affiliated with the Centre de Recherche en Economie et Management (CREM), a CNRS research unit (UMR 6211), and works within the LISEFE team and the ORN Pole (Organizations, Networks, Digital) at the UFR SEGGAT - Faculty of Economics, Management, Geography and Regional Planning Sciences.
Professor Khelil's research focuses on entrepreneurial failure and support mechanisms for failing and failed entrepreneurs, situated at the crossroads of three fields: entrepreneurship, technological foresight and cognitive psychology. His work examines the multiple configurations of entrepreneurial failure, persistence mechanisms after business failure, and the psychological aspects of entrepreneurship. He has published extensively in entrepreneurship journals with 56 publications generating over 32,000 reads and 655 citations on ResearchGate.
His recent scholarly output reveals a strong emphasis on understanding entrepreneurial failure from multiple perspectives, including franchise systems, cognitive mapping approaches, and psychological frameworks like discrepancy theory. His publications demonstrate methodological diversity, employing qualitative analysis, configurational approaches, and cognitive mapping techniques to explore complex entrepreneurial phenomena.
