Nabil Hussein

Nabil Hussein serves as Head of the Department of Materials and Metallurgical Engineering at the Faculty of Engineering, University of Tripoli, a position he has held since October 1995. With a PhD qualification, he actively teaches undergraduate courses including Introduction to Materials Science, Ceramics Science and Engineering, and Nanomaterials, while supervising MSc theses in nanoscale ceramics and polymer-ceramic composites.

His research focuses on production, formation, and heat treatment of nanoceramic materials such as nanozirconia and nanoalumina, alongside solar cell structural materials like nanotitanium dioxide. This work bridges fundamental materials science with applications in sustainable engineering and advanced composites, emphasizing nanoscale material properties and industrial recycling.

Dr. Hussein contributes extensively to academic service as a member of the Engineering Scientific Conference scientific committee since 2017 and evaluates research papers for journals and promotion committees. His administrative roles include coordinating undergraduate examinations, serving on the Curriculum and Arabization Committee, and managing graduate studies programs within the department.
