Māra Kampara is a Lecturer and Doctoral Student at the Department of Rehabilitation, Riga Stradins University, and also affiliated with the Institute of Public Health. She is actively engaged in research on nutrition, dietary habits, and public health in Latvia.
Her research interests include nutrition literacy, gut microbiome, obesity, body mass index, and dietary behavior, particularly among postmenopausal women and nursing students. Her work contributes to UN Sustainable Development Goals related to health and well-being.
The recent publications reflect a consistent focus on cross-sectional studies, clinical nutrition, and public health interventions. Themes include the impact of diet on bone health, physical activity among nursing students, and emotional influences on weight. Her research combines epidemiological methods with clinical insights, often in Latvian population cohorts.

- 2019–2022: Expert, Development of fermented dairy products from organic milk and their clinical study, funded by the European Agricultural Fund
She has organized academic events such as the Food Sustainability Seminar and delivered keynote speeches, including at the 4th International Conference Nutrition and Health. She has also served as a visiting lecturer at FH Joanneum University of Applied Sciences in Austria.
Māra Kampara is actively contributing to public discourse through media appearances, such as the press piece Uztura ieteikumi senioriem, and her research is disseminated via open-access journals and conferences.
