Mário Bruno Pastor is a PhD Candidate and Researcher at the Portuguese Catholic University (UCP) School of Arts, focusing on the industrial heritage of 19th-20th century Northern Portugal woollen mills. His research is funded by Portugal’s Fundação para a Ciência e Tecnologia (FCT). He holds a Master’s in Heritage and Cultural Tourism from the University of Minho and postgraduate qualifications in History and Industrialisation. As a researcher at the Centre for Science and Technology of the Arts (CITAR), he explores adaptive reuse of industrial sites and urban memory. His work emphasizes interdisciplinary approaches to industrial heritage conservation and its societal impacts. He contributes to the ECR - Estudos de Conservação e Restauro journal’s editorial board. Recent publications analyze the Lordelo do Ouro Woollen Mill’s resilience as a cultural palimpsest. Pastor participates in global discussions on industrial heritage preservation’s role in gentrification and right-wing populism debates, advocating for equitable heritage management.
