Dr. Myungwoon Lee is an Assistant Professor in Drexel University's Chemistry Department. She completed her PhD in Physical Chemistry at MIT (2018) and postdoctoral training at NIH (2022), following a BS in Physics from University of Seoul and industry experience at Samsung Electronics.
Her research investigates molecular structures and interactions in biological macromolecules, specializing in neurodegenerative protein aggregates and membrane-associated amyloid fibrils. The lab employs solid-state NMR and cryo-electron microscopy to analyze molecular dynamics and intermolecular interactions in pathological protein assemblies.
Research areas include structural characterization of amyloid fibrils in neurodegeneration, viral fusion protein mechanisms, and metalloprotein catalysis.
