Myriam Forster

Myriam Forster is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Health Sciences at California State University, Northridge (CSUN), focusing on adolescent and young adult behavioral health. She earned her PhD in Preventive Medicine (2015) from the University of Southern California, Keck School of Medicine, and an MPH in Public Health (2010) from CSUN.

Her research investigates the impact of childhood adversity, socio-cultural stressors, and community factors on adolescent behavioral health, with a focus on resilience mechanisms and substance use prevention. She previously completed a postdoctoral fellowship in Child and Adolescent Health at the University of Minnesota.

Current projects aim to inform evidence-based programs that enhance health and well-being for at-risk youth by analyzing risk-protective factor interactions and socio-cultural determinants.
