Myriam Denov is a Full Professor at McGill University's School of Social Work and holds the Canada Research Chair in Children, Families and Armed Conflict (Tier 1). Her research focuses on children and families affected by war, migration, and their intergenerational impact. She specializes in participatory and arts-based research, working globally with war-affected populations. Key areas include children born of conflict-related sexual violence and transitional justice. Denov has authored over 14 books and 190 peer-reviewed publications, contributing significantly to child rights and international development. She is a Fellow of the Royal Society of Canada and has received prestigious awards such as the SSHRC Impact Award and Prix du Québec.
- Education: PhD from the University of Cambridge (Commonwealth Scholar), MA in Criminology from Université d’Ottawa, and degrees from McGill and University of Toronto.
Her research interests span children’s rights, migration, and the effects of political violence. Denov has advised international bodies like the UN and ICC.
