Muzaffer Kaser

Muzaffer Kaser is an Official Fellow at Emmanuel College and an Affiliated Assistant Professor in the Department of Psychiatry, University of Cambridge. He is also a Consultant Psychiatrist at Cambridgeshire and Peterborough NHS Foundation Trust. He holds qualifications including MD (Istanbul), MPhil (Cantab), PhD (Cantab), and MRCPsych.

• Specialist in general adult psychiatry and liaison psychiatry
• Research focus on workplace mental health (healthcare workers), health economics, and cognitive impairments in depression
• Former Bye-Fellow at Emmanuel College (2022–2025)
• Mental Health Specialty Lead for NIHR East of England Research Delivery Network
• Active in teaching, including the Neurobiology of Human Behaviour module

Research Interests: Muzaffer leads studies on cognitive dysfunction in depression, particularly memory and concentration difficulties, and develops economic models for mental health service effectiveness. His work bridges clinical practice and translational research.

Leadership Roles: He directs the Staff Mental Health Service for healthcare workers and contributes to national committees, including the Royal College of Psychiatrists' Wellbeing Committee and the Occupational Psychiatry Special Interest Group.
