Murod Aliyev

Dr. Murod Aliyev is a Senior Lecturer in International Business at Alliance Manchester Business School, University of Manchester. He joined in January 2024 after serving as Associate Professor at Leeds University Business School. He holds a PhD in Economics from the University of Leeds (2012), specializing in industrial economics and transition economics.

His research explores two interconnected streams: global innovation economics (strategic management of innovation across borders, intangible assets, inventor-team dynamics) and institutional theory (how institutional differences impact multinational enterprises and local firms). His work employs empirical methods to analyze firm-level innovation performance in diverse economic contexts.

Analyses of his recent publications reveal strong thematic patterns in international business strategy, institutional economics, and innovation management. His work frequently examines emerging economies, intangible asset valuation, and cross-border knowledge flows, with methodological emphasis on quantitative analysis of firm-level and patent data.

Dr. Aliyev maintains active research collaborations and leads projects investigating innovation ecosystems. He contributes to academic communities through peer-reviewed publications and engages in doctoral supervision through the PhD program at Manchester.
