معرفی
Murat Çınar is an Associate Professor at the Department of Petroleum and Natural Gas Engineering at Istanbul Technical University (ITU). He holds a PhD from Leland Stanford Junior University and has been affiliated with ITU since 2007. His research focuses on reservoir engineering, in-situ combustion, hydraulic fracturing, and production logging, with notable contributions to multilayer system analysis and thermal recovery mechanisms. Dr. Çınar has received awards including the Henry J. Ramey, Jr. Fellowship Award (2010) and the Award of Educational Excellence (2006).
**Education**: PhD in Petroleum Engineering from Stanford University (2007-2011), MSc from ITU (2003-2005), and BSc from ITU (1999-2003).
**Research Interests**: He investigates advanced reservoir characterization techniques, including temperature transient analysis for multilayer systems and fracture effects. His work spans experimental studies on underground coal gasification and in-situ combustion in fractured media. Key areas also include offshore gas field development challenges and friction factor estimation in horizontal wells.
**Grants & Projects**: Lead investigator on projects such as 'Estimation of Friction Factor for Horizontal Wells' (2022) and 'Underground Coal Gasification Potential in Turkey' (2020–2022). Active in developing methods for reservoir inflow profiling and thermal recovery optimization.
**Labs/Teams**: Leads research groups at ITU focusing on reservoir simulation and well testing, with collaborations in energy technologies and environmental impact assessments.
