Murat ARSLAN is a Lecturer at Trakya University’s Faculty of Health Sciences, Department of Audiology, where he continues his academic career following a Research Assistant role at Ankara University (2020–2022). He holds a Bachelor’s degree in Audiology (2016) from Hacettepe University and a Master’s in Audiology and Speech Disorders (2020) from Ankara University, with a thesis on conductive hearing loss and absorbance. His doctoral research at Trakya University focuses on audiological advancements.
Research Interests: His work centers on tinnitus mechanisms, cochlear dysfunction, ototoxicity mitigation, and systemic sclerosis-related audiovestibular involvement. He explores diagnostic techniques like wideband tympanometry and evaluates hearing aid effectiveness in geriatric populations. His studies also address sleep deprivation’s impact on the audiovestibular system and stem cell applications for hearing restoration.
Publications Trends: Recent articles emphasize biomarker identification (e.g., Prestin protein in tinnitus) and translational research (e.g., memantine as an ototoxicity protector). He bridges clinical and experimental otology, often collaborating on multidisciplinary projects like the 3rd International Congress of the Mirko Tos Ear & Hearing Research Center (2024).
- Awards: 45th Turkish National Otorhinolaryngology Award for Experimental Otology (2024), TUBITAK Project Management Certification (2023).
- Professional Development: Holds certificates in experimental animal use and clinical audiology training.
Grants & Collaborations: Engaged in TUBITAK-funded projects, focusing on audiological diagnostics and ototoxicity research. His work includes clinical trials at Ankara University’s Ibn-i Sina Hospital, particularly in newborn hearing screening.
