Associate Professor Murali Agastya is a faculty member in the School of Economics, Faculty of Arts and Social Sciences, University of Sydney. His research and teaching focus on game theory, auction theory, mechanism design, and microeconomic theory, with a special emphasis on learning in games and market microstructure.
He obtained his PhD in Economics from the University of Chicago in 1993. Before joining the University of Sydney, he served as a lecturer at University College London and as a Research Fellow at the Center for Economic Learning and Social Evolution. He has also held postdoctoral and visiting appointments at the Hebrew University of Jerusalem, University of Tokyo, University of Western Ontario, and Ben Gurion University.

Teaching & Supervision
He offers PhD and master's project supervision in finance and microeconomic theory, with particular strengths in game theory and mechanism design. He teaches courses in game theory, finance, and microeconomics at both undergraduate and postgraduate levels.
