Mumtaz Ali

Dr. Mumtaz Ali is a Senior Lecturer (Pathways) at UniSQ College, University of Southern Queensland, with a PhD from USQ. He holds adjunct appointments at the University of Prince Edward Island's School of Climate Change and Adaptation. His research focuses on AI applications in environmental science, particularly climate change adaptation, renewable energy, and hydrological forecasting.

Research interests span artificial intelligence, machine learning, deep learning, climate change impacts, renewable energy systems, and statistical modeling. He has secured over $7M in research funding and leads multiple projects developing AI models for environmental prediction and resource management.

Awards include recognition as a world's top 2% scientist by Stanford University (2019-2022) and competitive fellowships including the Alfred Deakin Postdoctoral Research Fellowship. He supervises doctoral and master's candidates working on AI applications in climate science and environmental monitoring.
