Muhammad Saad Yousuf

Muhammad Saad Yousuf serves as a Research Assistant Professor in the Department of Neuroscience within the School of Behavioral and Brain Sciences at the University of Texas at Dallas. He maintains his academic office in BSB13.302 and is affiliated with the Center for Advanced Pain Studies (CAPS), a multidisciplinary research hub focused on pain mechanisms and therapeutics.

His research program centers on elucidating molecular pathways of chronic pain in diabetes and multiple sclerosis, with particular emphasis on translation regulation in neuropathic pain states. He actively pursues drug discovery initiatives targeting non-opioid analgesics, aiming to develop novel pain management solutions that circumvent opioid dependency risks. This work bridges basic neuroscience with translational pharmacology to address critical unmet needs in chronic pain treatment.

As an integral member of the Center for Advanced Pain Studies, Dr. Yousuf collaborates across neuroscience, pharmacology, and clinical disciplines to advance pain research from bench to bedside, leveraging institutional resources for mechanistic studies and therapeutic development.
