Mu He is an Assistant Professor of Public Relations at Drake University’s School of Journalism & Mass Communication, joining in 2023. He holds a master’s degree in public relations from Boston University and a Ph.D. from the University of Miami, where he also served as an instructor for three years.

His research focuses on public relations and sports communication, particularly organizational communication during crises, media representations of minority athletes, and cross-national conflicts in sports. He has published in journals like Public Relations Review and New Media and Society. His teaching includes statistics, PR strategy, and sports publicity, with a passion for preparing students for careers.
He contributed to the International Journal of Sports Communication and examined how sports fans respond to controversies. Awards include the Top Student Paper at the International Communication Association (2023). He has practical experience with organizations like World Athletics, CNN, and TRACS.
