Dr. Mrunali Harshadrai Damania is a Research Associate at the University of Hamburg's Faculty of Business, Economics and Social Sciences, Department of Socioeconomics, since mid-September 2023. She works within the Cluster of Excellence CliCCS on the project "B2 - Dynamics of Climate Governance: Norms, Contestation, and Policies" under the Chair of Environmental Economics.
- PhD in Social Psychology from Indian Institute of Technology Roorkee
- Specializes in climate governance, human behavior, and socio-cognitive dynamics
- Methodological expertise in theory-driven research, field experiments, and qualitative interviews
Her research focuses on the intersection of climate change policy frameworks and social psychological factors, particularly exploring how cognitive traits and justice sensitivity influence societal responses to environmental challenges. Her work contributes to understanding behavioral patterns in climate governance systems.
As part of the CliCCS project team, she collaborates with Prof. Dr. Grischa Perino and colleagues on analyzing normative structures and contestation mechanisms in climate policy development. Her current research tracks longitudinal behavioral shifts in response to climate governance initiatives.
