Mridula Shobinath

Mridula Shobinath is a Researcher at the Netherlands Study Center for Crime and Law Enforcement (NSCR) since 2020. Previously, she served as a Junior lecturer at the University of Amsterdam (2018-19) and completed her Master’s in Sociology there in 2018, following a Bachelor’s in Sociology from the Tata Institute of Social Sciences, India (2016).

• Research Focus: Her work addresses legislation and policy against human trafficking, legalization of prostitution, and victims of the sex industry, with expertise in governance and policy making and qualitative research.
• Affiliation: NSCR, a research institute under the Netherlands Organisation for Scientific Research (NWO), contributes to societal issues in security and justice through state-of-the-art scientific methods.
