Dr. Mostafa Batouli is an Assistant Professor of Construction Engineering at The Citadel, specializing in system-of-systems analysis for sustainability and resilience in civil infrastructure. He holds a PhD in Civil and Environmental Engineering from Florida International University (FIU), along with advanced degrees in Public Administration, Homeland Security, and Civil Engineering. Prior to joining The Citadel in 2018, he served as a Visiting Professor at FIU’s Moss School of Construction. His research focuses on human-infrastructure-environment interactions, coastal resilience, and adaptive planning in infrastructure systems, with over 20 publications and significant awards including a Dissertation Year Fellowship (2016). He teaches courses in construction engineering, project management, and sustainability.
Dr. Batouli’s expertise spans dynamic simulation frameworks for infrastructure resilience, life-cycle assessment methodologies, and equity-focused disaster adaptation.
