Dr. Mostafa Abedinifard is an Assistant Professor of Modern Persian Literature and Culture at the Department of Asian Studies, Faculty of Arts, University of British Columbia. He holds a PhD in Comparative Literature (2015) and MA/BA in English from Allameh Tabataba'i University.
- Research focuses on modern Iranian/Persianate studies through literature, cinema, and nonfiction
- Expert in feminist theory, critical masculinities, and world literature frameworks
His publications analyze:
- Decolonial narratives in Persian humor (2016-2021)
- Autobiographical comics as cultural expression (2014)
- Qajar-era gender discourses (2013)
He serves on editorial boards of Iran Namag, Journal of Men's Studies, and HUMOR. Since 2018, he has organized the Alireza Ahmadian Lectures in Iranian Studies.
