Morten Bøhmer Strøm

Morten Bøhmer Strøm is a Professor and Vice-dean Research and Innovation at the Faculty of Health Sciences, UiT The Arctic University of Norway. He leads the Natural Products and Medicinal Chemistry Research Group, focusing on peptides and peptidomimetics with activity against resistant bacteria and cancer cells.

His research integrates marine natural product mimicry for drug development, emphasizing innovation, patents, and commercialization. Key areas include antimicrobial peptides, peptidomimetic optimization, and bioactive compound isolation from Arctic/sub-Arctic invertebrates.

He supervises PhD and master's students in pharmacy/chemistry, with 31 master's students since 2003. Grants include Norwegian Research Council and MabCent–SFI funding for projects like LEADScAMR and AntifoMar.
