Morten Beckmann is an Associate Professor of Religion at the University of Agder's Department of Religion, Philosophy and History. He serves as subject coordinator for the associate degree program in religion and leads the research group 'Sacred Scriptures and Authoritative Texts.' His academic background includes a PhD in Biblical Studies (2013–2016) and practical-pedagogical education (2012).
His research focuses on Bible translations, the New Testament's reception history, digital transformation of religious texts, and religious education didactics. He is affiliated with Collegium Judaicum, the Norwegian New Testament Forum, the Society of Biblical Literature, and EABS.
Teaching responsibilities include courses in the one-year religion program, bachelor's programs in religion, ethics, and society, and supervision in the master's program. His publications span translation studies, biblical exegesis, and pedagogical innovation in religious education. Key research groups include Agder Forum for Translation Studies and 'Religion, Kindergarten and School.'
