Moritz Buick serves as a Research Associate at the Institute for Ethics and Related Social Sciences within the Faculty of Protestant Theology at the University of Münster, holding this position since October 2023 while concurrently working as a research assistant in the faculty dean's office since March 2023.
- Academic Education: October 2016–February 2023, Protestant theology at Georg August University (Göttingen) and Westphalian Wilhelms University (Münster), graduating with First Theological Examination of the Confederation of Protestant Churches in Lower Saxony and Magister Theologiae.
His research centers on political ethics and religious policy, subjectivity theory, theological-ethical social theory, and 19th-20th century theology history, demonstrating rigorous engagement with ethical frameworks at the intersection of religion, politics, and social structures. Current teaching includes proseminars on Albert Schweitzer's ethical philosophy and Paul Tillich's writings on love, power, and justice.
Buick maintains active institutional ties through the Cluster of Excellence for Religion and Politics where he previously worked as a student assistant, and contributes to academic discourse via memberships in the International Schleiermacher Society and Münster Association for Ethics.
