معرفی
Morgan Alonzo is a Lecturer and former Scholarly Teaching Fellow at the University of Technology Sydney (UTS), based in the School of Mathematical and Physical Sciences. She holds a PhD (2018) and Bachelor of Forensic Science (2012), both from UTS. Her research focuses on forensic chemistry, particularly developing methods for identifying new psychoactive substances (NPS) in illicit materials, with industry collaborations leading to commercialized testing tools for synthetic cathinones. She coordinates large first-year chemistry courses and directs the Bachelor of Science (Chemistry) and Flexible programs.
Educational Background:
- PhD in Physical Sciences, UTS (2014–2018)
- Bachelor of Forensic Science (Honours 1st Class), UTS (2009–2012)
Research interests include forensic drug analysis, NPS detection methodologies, and neurotoxicological effects of synthetic compounds. Her work emphasizes portable testing innovations and regulatory challenges posed by evolving drug markets. Articles highlight advancements in presumptive testing, organic impurity profiling, and neurotoxicity mechanisms of synthetic cathinones.
Advising and Grants: Supervises research students in forensic chemistry and toxicology. Active in industry partnerships for forensic testing commercialization. No specific grants listed.
Labs/Teams: Engaged with UTS forensic chemistry research groups and industry collaborators in drug analysis.
